Sublimation

Sublimation transfers dye into polyester fibres, becoming part of the fabric rather than sitting on top. The result is full-colour designs with zero hand feel, but only on 100% polyester and only on white or light substrates.

Sublimation requires 100% polyester fabric. Any cotton content prevents the dye from bonding. The substrate must be white or very light: sublimation dye is translucent, so darker base colours show through. All-over prints are the sublimation specialty, since the technique covers seams and panels without registration issues.

Transfer paper and heat press at 400°F for 60 seconds are the standard equipment. Detailed editorial on per-style sublimation suitability, panel decoration patterns, and substrate handling is in progress.
