DTF (Direct-to-Film)
DTF prints onto a heat-transferable film, then presses the design onto almost any fabric. The flexibility makes DTF a workhorse for decorators who handle mixed fabric content in short runs.
DTF works on cotton, polyester, blends, and most synthetic fabrics. Unlike DTG, no pre-treatment or fabric-specific calibration is required. The transfer film carries the colour, so dark and light fabrics print equally well. Heat press requirements are standard (around 300°F, 15 seconds, medium pressure).
Durability is good but not as long-lived as embroidery or screen printing on heavy use. Detailed editorial on film handling, press temperature ranges, and wash-test data is in progress.
